Teemu Korpilahti

I'm a service, concept and user experience designer with a keen interest in analytics. More than ten years of work in a variety of roles have given me good insight into the design and development of online services.

I'm currently living in London and working as a design director at Crasman. I'm also a part time doctoral student at the Department of Visual Communication Design in Aalto University.

Design Director at Crasman, January 2018 - Present

In addition to working as the director of a team of fifteen experts, my work has concentrated on developing the design maturity of our company in such fields as human centric design, analytics, and accessibility. In select key accounts, my work consists of design management and concept design. I've had a key role in building a continuous and agile design process in these clients. I also participate in new business acquisition and sales as a design specialist. Key accounts include such companies as Autotalo Laakkonen and subsidiaries of Kesko.

Lead Designer at Crasman, May 2015 - January 2018

Prior to my present role as a Design Director, I worked as a Lead Designer. During this time my responsibilities were much the same, with the exception that I didn't have supervisory responsibility over the team and didn't participate in the work of the excecutive management team.

Account Manager at Crasman, February 2012 - May 2015

I made my comeback to Crasman in 2012 in a completely different role. As an account manager, I was in charge of account and project management for the online services of such clients as Finavia, Alma Media, and the Finnish Unicef. The projects we delivered included both the design and technical development of services.

Rich Media and User Experience at Bolder, March 2010 - January 2012

After I completed my studies at the University of Art and Design (Aalto University), I got involved in a creative agency startup that had been founded by Aalto University students and graduates. During my time at Bolder, I was mostly involved with the technical side of UX, working with front-end development, Flash, and ActionScript.

Researcher at University of Art and Design Helsinki, October 2008 - June 2011

During and after my MA studies, I found myself Working at Crucible Studio, where I designed and developed interfaces for interactive storytelling installations in close collaboration with media artists. In addition, I participated in the evaluation of software products, which were developed in the EU funded Salero project.

Web Designer at Crasman, February 2006 - August 2007

Fresh from school, I came to work for Crasman for the first time. My work included both visual design and technical development of client websites.
